The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation builds on a legendary heritage. We understand this heritage as a cultural resource that we share with others and visualise with current perspectives and questions. We do this together with all those – locally and worldwide – who are interested in the legacy of the Bauhaus and its topicality. It is essential to think about this heritage responsibly, to constantly review its significance and importance, to look at it in the mirror of the present and to keep it alive for the future. We believe that a critical discourse on the historical significance and impact of this heritage is necessary. This also includes defending the Bauhaus heritage against derogatory and disparaging attacks.
