There is always this wall. This milky wall that I cannot break through. It’s always there and doesn’t go away. Sometimes I hear it louder, sometimes I understand things better, but mostly, yes mostly it’s obscure.
Every year in early December, the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau presents a programme of modern theatre on the historic Bauhaus stage.
“Blue”, an interdisciplinary performance, blurs the borders between fiction and reality in an almost unfiltered stream of consciousness. The intertwining of language, movement and sound entices the audience to immerse themselves in Yasmine’s flow of thoughts and to get to know her perspective on the world through Chayenne, her inner voice.
In eccentric costumes and bright colours, “Blue” questions the times we live in with humour and absurdity. What is important to us? Where do we belong? What happens to us when we approach someone but are not heard or are rejected?
“Blue” was developed by an international team and performed for the first time in summer 2023 at Teater Momentum in Odense (Denmark).
