Open Workshop: What Remains?

Open Workshop: What Remains?

To mark International Museum Day, artist Antje Schiffers and her partner Thomas Sprenger invite you to join them in exploring their exhibition Soda | Lentils | Fluff at the Bauhaus Museum Dessau.

The Open Workshop combines a dialogue-based guided tour, hands-on experiments and collective reflection. A chemical experiment on steel production brings industrial processes to life. In another part of the session, participants can cast so-called “gravel pit creatures” – small objects created whilst working together.
A shared break with refreshments provides an opportunity for discussion. Finally, the group will discuss “raw material acceptance”: participants are invited to draw sites of raw material extraction or exploitation and to discuss the significance these have for our everyday lives.

The workshop is conceived as an open, process-oriented space bridging the exhibition, everyday life and discussion – a collective reflection on what remains.
