On International Museum Day 2025, the Open Workshop invites interested parties to experience the fascinating technique of the cyanotype process. In conjunction with the current exhibitions Bauhaus Ecologies and Delphinium Maximum on the ground floor of the museum, which open up ecological and artistic perspectives on nature, visitors can try out the traditional cyanotype technique under guidance.
They can make their own prints using the simple but impressive cyanotype process: A negative or an object that casts a shadow – whether leaves, feathers or flowers – is placed on coated paper and exposed to sunlight. The motif is fixed by soaking it in tap water, creating a unique photo print in intense blue to take home.
For young people and adults aged 14 and over.
