To mark the end of the exhibition, there will be a discussion between the artist Antje Schiffers, the foundation’s director Barbara Steiner and Angelika Weißbach from the Museum Utopie und Alltag.
At the invitation of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, Antje Schiffers and her partner Thomas Sprenger set out on a quest to find traces of the origins and production of building materials. In the process, they made contact with manufacturers, geologists and industrial museums, forged relationships and involved them in the exhibition Soda | Lentils | Fluff.
Angelika Weißbach is a researcher at the Museum Utopie und Alltag / Kunstarchiv Beeskow. Together with the Documentation Centre for Everyday Culture in the GDR in Eisenhüttenstadt, the Kunstarchiv Beeskow preserves an extensive collection of objects relating to the cultural history of the GDR. The exhibition Soda | Linsen | Fluff was supported by the Kunstarchiv Beeskow with two items on loan.
