Bricks | Roof | Power
28 Mar – 27 Sep 2026
Employment Office
Together with the artist Antje Schiffers and her partner Thomas Sprenger, we are taking a trip to the Alte Ziegelei in Westeregeln, Saxony-Anhalt.
The brick-drying racks currently on display in Antje Schiffers’ exhibition Soda | Lentils | Fluff at the Bauhaus Museum Dessau originate from the old Westeregeln brickworks. Bricks also play a central role in the Historical Employment Office and the open air presentation Bricks | Roof | Power. Here, the Danish artist group SUPERFLEX will install an architectural structure made of unfired clay bricks, known as “Superbricks”.
The chairman of the Verein der Freunde und Förderer der Ziegelei und Gipshütten Westeregeln e.V., Andreas Beaugrand, will guide the group through the Westeregeln Brickworks, explaining the history of the site. Following the tour, participants will have the opportunity to chat and exchange ideas over a barbecue.
