Artist in Talk
At the end of the exhibition ‘Unsteady Stages’ by Kerstin Flake, the director of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, Barbara Steiner, and the photographer herself will meet in an artist talk. The discussion will focus on Kerstin Flake’s works on display at the Meisterhaus Kandinsky and her residency at the Meisterhaus Muche/Schlemmer in 2022.
Within her carefully planned photo series, the forces of physics are recognised and captured, so that everyday objects and people in surreal scenes appear to float remarkably. Kerstin Flake’s perception of a dynamic time and its as yet unknown changes and consequences in the 1920s was the inspiration for her installative artistic explorations of the historic Bauhaus buildings and the collection.
