In 1925–26, the Bauhaus moved from Weimar to Dessau. One hundred years on, this monthly reading series looks back at that year through both everyday and unusual reports from historical newspapers and other sources. Andreas Hillger and Frank Kreißler, head of the City Archives, will read from historical sources.
This instalment of the reading series focuses on prominent figures associated with the Bauhaus. These include architects such as Peter Behrens, painters such as Oskar Kokoschka, writers such as Gerhart Hauptmann, composers such as Béla Bartók, and scientists such as Albert Einstein.
The readings will also shed light on events in the city. Andreas Hillger and Frank Kreißler will present a wide selection of important and interesting events in Dessau in 1926.
Reading series in collaboration with the City of Dessau-Roßlau and the Dessau-Roßlau City Archives. Funded by the State of Saxony-Anhalt.
