Special event: 1926 – The world discovers the Bauhaus

Ise Gropius’s diaries were long regarded as a well-kept secret within the holdings of the Berlin Bauhaus Archive; they have now been made fully accessible to the public.

As part of the reading series 1926 – The World Comes to the Bauhaus, the editors Astrid Bähr and Adriana Kapsreiter present Ise Gropius’s private notes from the years 1924 to 1928. In doing so, they are making accessible a valuable source on the late Weimar period and the Bauhaus’s years in Dessau – a panorama of political developments and private life, as recorded by Ise Gropius.

A collaboration between the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and the City of Dessau-Roßlau.
