Out of the Display Case: Zwei Welten (Two Worlds)

In addition to furniture and other everyday objects, Conrad Feininger has donated his father T. Lux Feininger’s typewriter to the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation 2025, which is currently on display in the exhibition Bakelite | Glaze | Colour. Clamped inside is an unfinished page from the Bauhaus member and artist’s autobiography, which he began in the late 1990s and which was published in 2004 under the title “Zwei Welten – Mein Künstlerleben zwischen Bauhaus und Amerika” (Two Worlds – My life as an artist between Bauhaus and America).

Conrad Feininger and Torsten Blume, Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, will read an excerpt from this book on the evening, which focuses primarily on the early years of the Dessau Bauhaus.
