Open Workshop: Bent, Angled, Twisted

Open Workshop: Bent, Angled, Twisted

In the Open Workshop, we focus on metal, an omnipresent material with almost universal applications. Metal can be melted down and reused, yet it is also considered dimensionally stable and durable. Metals are the material foundation of human civilisation. Their use not only affects all aspects of life and economic activity, but also influences culture, architecture and art.

We want to explore the material in a playful, poetic way and, drawing inspiration from works from the historic Bauhaus workshop, create an installation of objects that appear to contradict their materiality and sensually transport the viewer into a choreography of shapes, shadows and sounds.

Workshop in German for young people aged 14 and over as well as adults, led by Leipzig-based designer Andreas Wohmann.
