Friday Group: Nature + Preservation

Friday Group: Nature + Preservation

How much nature is there in nature conservation? What does nature mean? And what are the contradictions and ambivalences of views on nature? This Friday Group asks these questions in talks, lectures and a film programme. Among those invited are representatives of the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve, the German Cactus Society and civil society actors who are practically involved in nature conservation. Based on historical environmental thinking, the Friday Group is interested in today’s ideas of nature and how we deal with it. In view of advancing climate change and the ongoing destruction of nature, the question of its protection is more pressing than ever.

The Friday Group follows in the tradition of the Bauhaus Dessau in actively addressing social challenges and getting involved.
