Friday Group: Preserving nature?

Friday Group: Preserving nature?

How much nature is there in nature conservation? What does nature mean? And what are the contradictions and ambivalences of views on nature? This Friday Group asks these questions in talks, lectures and a film programme. Representatives of the Dessau Natural History Museum, the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve, the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom and the German Cactus Society have been invited. Based on historical environmental thinking, the Friday Group is interested in today’s ideas of nature and how we deal with it. In view of advancing climate change and the ongoing destruction of nature, the question of its protection is more pressing than ever.

The Friday Group follows in the tradition of the Bauhaus Dessau in actively addressing social challenges and getting involved.
