Open Workshop: Formwork

In this Open Workshop, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation’s Building Research Archive opens its doors for a special exploration of materials. Together with Peter Biewer (Building Department) and Anne Schneider (Curatorial Workshop), participants will discover original modernist materials – such as concrete and terrazzo – and explore their traces, surfaces and histories.

Between the archive and the studio, photographic, graphic and textual approaches to the material are created at various stations: from the precise gaze of the researchers to the poetic approach of the designers.

An invitation to get to the root of things – and to encounter the Bauhaus material concrete in a whole new way.
