Friday Group: Flowers + Vases

Friday Group: Flowers + Vases

Flowers have been brought together in artistic compositions for centuries.

This Friday group focuses on the presentation of flowers, in the form of floral arrangements, in flowerbeds, in salesrooms or at large garden shows, on the occasion of the Delphinium Maximum exhibition. In many cultures, there are fascinating artisanal techniques with creative rules that can be followed – or questioned.

People of all ages are invited to bring the pride of their garden with them to tie the flowers into bouquets during the evening and then present them to the public as part of the exhibition on the Spatial Stage.

The evening opens up insights into the creative use of flowers in different areas: Gardener Nina Busse will talk about her experiences caring for delphiniums and planting beds for large garden shows, the florists from Tulpe Blumenwerkstatt in Zerbst will give a practical introduction to their craft and artist Luise Marchand will provide insights into her exploration of flowers and floristry in the context of the global mass market and its ecological impact. The event will conclude with a silent vote on the best bouquets and a festive award ceremony for their designers.
