After more than six months, the anniversary exhibition ‘Algae | Debris | CO2’ is closing at the former Eduard Zeeck department store.
Numerous visitors viewed the exhibition on circular design in art and design and learnt about alternative materials, such as basalt, clay, algae and geopolymer concrete made from waste materials – in other words, materials far from the modern canon of materials. Among the national and international visitors were practitioners, students, researchers and numerous residents of Dessau who were interested in the future of the building.
On the final day of the exhibition, we would like to discuss the project once more as part of the Federal Cultural Foundation’s ‘Zero’ programme, highlight the synergies between numerous craftspeople, small and large enterprises, researchers, designers, institutions and artists, outline future prospects, and offer a final guided tour led by the curators.
