Bauhaus Museum Dessau
The Bauhaus (1919–1933) was regarded as a progressive institution during the Weimar Republic – yet its approach to homosexuality and gender diversity remained a hidden source of tension.
The guided tour traces the legacy of queer lifestyles at the Bauhaus: from the current temporary exhibition Gong | Bang | Whistle, featuring the film Drainpipe Dreams by the artist duo Astrup & Bordorff, to the collection display on the first floor, which tells the stories of Marianne Brandt, Marcel Breuer, Erich Kraus, Richard Grune and Max Peiffer Watenphul.
