PRACTICE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
Design Fellowship
in the ‘Curatorial Workshop’ Department

Bauhaus Dessau Foundation offers a two-year design fellowship (Volontariat) at the Curatorial Workshop (shorter duration possible if required).

The fellowship programme is to foster discourse-centred design, and designers that pursue a content-driven approach with strong formal sensibilities and an interest in the overlaps of theory and practice in design.

The fellowship will allow a graduate to explore and develop further the intertwined relationship of research with design practice – and experience the workings of an internationally operating cultural institution.

The fellow will be immersed in the unique architectural environment of the Bauhaus, will be in touch with unique artefacts of the collection and be involved in different cooperation projects of the foundation.

The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation is a federal foundation with a focus on arts and artistic research. It aims to preserve the legacy of the Bauhaus, engage in academic research and apply its approach to a contemporary world. The foundation has established itself as a significant research institution with an international network. Furthermore, the foundation is continuing to inspire artistic practices, design and architecture in the 21st century, and has broadened its reach with the opening of the Bauhaus Museum Dessau.
