T. Lux Feininger, primarily known as Bauhaus photographer, uniquely combined his experiences with the Bauhaus stage and his ambitions as a visual artist in his early work. For the first time, his illustrations of the satire The Man Who Was Thursday can be exhibited together with preparatory sketches.

What kind of hospital architecture is needed to have a positive effect on the healing process of patients? The Bauhäusler Franz Ehrlich already investigated this question in the 1950s. The result – the Central Institute for Cardiovascular Research of the GDR Academy of Sciences – is presented in the Intermezzo with photographs, drawings and plans.

Starting with the sketch of the yogic Seven Chakras designed by Bauhaus master Joost Schmidt in 1931, Burghard Duhm (Bauhaus Dessau Foundation) follows the path of yoga at the Bauhaus up to the present day. The question is explored as to what function yoga had in a college of design and whether it was yoga at all as we know it today? In addition, Burghard Duhm, as a trained yoga teacher, will give the guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in their own experiential spaces of yoga with small exercises.
